Media too nice for MvB

June 9th, 2006 | By: Jan | 2 Comments »

A new discussion has been started in Holland, and why not? We love our discussions in Holland…
The statement is: the media are too nice for van Basten. Although the Oranje-image has improved under his reign, the football wasn’t better than under, say… Advocaat.
and then there’s the decisions… Van Bommel sent away, Seedorf not selected, Davids not selected, no Huntelaar…. Other coaches would’ve been harassed by now… And that’s just by the media, let alone the public… What are your thoughts?

Oops, I mean during the qualification matches, last year. MvB found him to be to self centered in his decisions on the pitch. He didn’t perform his tasks and stuff, so MvB sent him away. MvB called him back to the squad several months later. This was quite an upset for the man who was then just signed by the biggest club in the world… Advocaat wouldn’t have gotten away with it, is the consensus in Holland.
Sorry…
