Makaay scores again!

November 4th, 2007 | By: Jan | 10 Comments »

Feyenoord won again at home, this time against De Graafschap. The first half was a bit below par, in the much better second half it was Feyenoord’s king of assists Tim de Cler (Marco!!!) who set up Jonathan De Guzman’s header: 1-0. Later in the match, Makaay got a penalty opp and transfered it: 2-0. Greene and Bruins were close to scoring and enlarging the end-result but the posts aided the visitors.

Ajax won the tough match against angstgegner Roda JC, 4-2. Koster – former coach of Roda and former Ajax youth coach – again allowed a youngster from the Ajax school to play the important midfielders position, left open by the injured Gabri. Robert Schilder accompanied van der Wiel and Siem de Jong. Jan Arie van der Heijden later made his debut in Ajax 1, resulting in 7 players in the line-up with an Ajax youth development background. Huntelaar, Suarez, Luque and Rommedahl scored for Ajax. who currently lead the competition.

Barcelona won 3-0 over Real Betis, with Henry scoring the first and Ronaldinho scoring the second and third from set-pieces. The Catalunyans are one point away from leader Real Madrid.

http://www.eredivisie.com/default.aspx?siteid=107

I just spent my Sunday afternoon watching two NFL games. My Buffalo Bills beat the Cincinati Bengals 33-21, The big game the Patriots beat the Colts 24-20. My beaf with Dutch Football is nowhere can I get highlights of weekend games at a official site. The above “eredivisie” site is useless.
You compare the eredivisie official site with the NFL site, no comparison.
Go to the http://www.nfl.com/ click on any game (say the Buff Cin game) and see the highlights of the full game.
Why can’t Dutch soccer promote itself in the same way?

That would be cathartic… Feyenoord has lost so many times in the recent years. I know a lot of fans who – even when Feyenoord becomes champs – would mourn the fact that they lost against ajax :-) .

Feyenoord does have some width issues though. With Hofs, Vincken and Hofland out, they are struggling to have equally good replacements. But when they’re all there, Feyenoord has quite an exciting team.

If are considered a failure as a coach if you fail to beat Alabama and vice versa for Auburn.

Speaking of Hofs,
I was able to tape a goal by Nicky Hofs last year at the NAC Feyenoord game.
