You may be asking the wrong person Goose. My club team Arsenal are a cosmopolitan side with a foreign manager, Arsene Wenger for the last ten years. Cosmopolitan supporters too. In terms of England I think that Sven Goran Erikson was as good a manager as the previous English managers. But he was cold and lacked passion. We enjoy our football and we need our players to have the same passion as the fans, maybe that can only come from an English manager. One big problem in England though is the press...they very quickly turn against the manager whether English or foreign. Foreign managers may find that aspect more difficult. At the end of the day Goose, I don't think the fans care about the manager so long as we are winning.

the hungarian national team doesn't count,but they had lothar matthaus for 2 years
- language problems
- the hungarian coach lobby against him (from the back)
- usually doesn't know the culture of the country,its football tradition

etc,etc - but i'm not against foreigner coaches. still i can't imagine oranje with a foreigner coach. maybe sacchi or lippi would do a good job.

Cheers Goose

WE don't get the qualifying Holland games live over here (London). Although we can catch up with Eurosport after the event. England v Russia at the new Wembley should be interesting. From an Arsenal perspective two results please...Holland beat Albania..nothing pretty just a win, and RvP comes back uninjured so that he can play for us against Tottenham on Saturday. By the way we also have Vincent van den Berg and Nacer Barazite. I will keep you posted on their progress. Take care, Frank

A lot of English Arsenal fans support Holland, principally becuase Dennis Bergkamp was such an influential player for us. His testimonial at the Emirates was fantastic. A great player...the mantle has now been taken by Robin...a great player in the making. Good luck Oranje against Albania.

@lerkot; hahahha...

yes we need vanBommel back, im not saying hes the solution to all our problems but i think it will help coordinate things at the back..remember that he plays libero (or Ausputzer as our german friends call it) right in nfront of defensiv with possibilitys to get at midfield positions

i know that it was vanBommel himself who called it a day but as it was vanBasten who drove him away, it should be vanBasten who takes the first step

get down on your knees Marco, and ask vanBommel if he wants to play for Oranje again!

we need players like vanBommel!!!!
