Kuyt awaits his chance
From the Oranje.nl website:
Kuyt wants but one thing. He wants to play at the WC and be part of the team he is still a fan of. Problem is: he is not part of the starting line-up.
“It’ll be a matter of time before I come on”, Kuyt said. And for those who know the Feyenoord striker, they know this is not to put pressure on van Persie or to sound arrogant.
“Of course it hurt when van Persie played me on the bench, but it’s not about me, nor is it about Robin. It’s about the team!”
Kuyt always plays with the air and drive that shows how much he loves the game. “And I do! I really feel, that if you enjoy the game, you’ll play better.”
“We have all dreamed to be here once, at this level. And I feel the players aren’t the stars, but Oranje as a whole should be the star. And we are all big fans of the team, apart from players.
But I had to fight for my spot before, and that’s what I’ll do again. I feel good, I feel fit and I am sure I will get my chance to do something for the team.”
After the WC, Kuyt really wants to play Chanpions League football, something that won’t be possible with Feyenoord next season. “Listen, I am really happy at Feyenoord, I feel reallt loced and revered there. But I need to grow and I want to win prices. My hands are aching to hold a cup or two… Still, I instructed my manager not to bother me during the WC with transfer stuff. I’ll take a decision after the event, and it will really need to be significant improvement, otherwise I am happy to stay in Rotterdam.
What team do you think will fit Kuyt?
