Klaas Jan moves to Madrid… Or does he?

December 2nd, 2008 | By: Jan | 44 Comments »

Marco van Basten and Ajax chair Uri Coronel quickly started up Teletekst on their tv set. There it was. KJH had finalized his negotiations with Madrid and is set to move to Real for 20 Million euros.
Former right winger and Mr Ajax Sjaak Swart read it too: “Hey Uri, make sure the chuck 10 million extra in, hahaha…”.

Coronel stated to the press that there was no deal with Madrid. There were talks, but definitely not in the final stages. “And if someone published the news of Klaas Jan going to Madrid or anywhere else, it’s Ajax. Not Klaas Jan or his manager, and not Real Madrid.”

Marco van Basten, quized about Hunter’s move. “Well, as far as I’m concerned, he stays till the summer. I said so before the season, and I’m telling you now.”

It’s pretty obvious that Real Madrid wants something. With Ruud van Gol out for the season, Saviola is the only real striker in the star team in trouble. Hernan Crespo was shortly on the hit list, but the Argentine striker is already 33 years old. And not cheap either. Klaas Jan Huntelaar has always been a fave of Madrid technical manager Mijatovic, but it’s still not clear if this deal will happen.

Madrid offered 20 Million, Ajax wants 30 Million. Just as a comparison: Wesley Sneijder moved to Madrid for 27 million euros. And some time ago, Marc Overmars signed at Barca (from Arsenal) for 40 million euros, and he still is the most expensive Dutch signing.

KJH would be Real’s 6th Dutchman. Interestingly though, Schuster’s future is unsure in Madrid, and this could even mean that if Bernd has to go, some Dutch players will have to go too… Maybe not the best moment for the Hunter to make the move.

do you really believe that all of our guys will start together? i mean in this line up there is no defending midfielder (gago and/or diarra),no guti,no higuain,no raul…

I don’t get why a German guy would sign so many Dutch players, can’t he look somewhere else and let our talent spread around. Ruud’s out for the season, so I’d say the most likely lineup is

———-raul——-huntelaar—–
robben——-sneijder——van der vaart (if we’re lucky)
back 4

No drenthe, he’s not there yet. I don’t know why they stopped playing van der Vaart as starter, I thought he was doing well.

if the coach got a bit more creative it could lucky something like

———huntelaar—–higuain———–
—————–raul——————

robben————————–sneijder

—————-gago

Not a bad line up, even though there’s no van der Vaart.

Dirk? have you really seen vdv at madrid? i have and in the last 8-10 games (when he stared as well as when he played as a sub) he was catastrophic: slow, bad passes,no sharpness, bad shots, bad free kicks, everything went wrong for him. this is a pity because he’s one of my favourite dutch players. and off topic but true: real did really-really wrong letting robinho go away…

hesp, bogarde, frank and ronald de boer and later davids as well. but they were better players the squad was more balanced and the non dutch players (guardiola, rivaldo, luis enrique, even figo) were more versatile than actual real-players. van gaal is far better coach than schuster.

Dirk I agree that Schuster should have signed someone else Podolski is available ? and I read somewhere that Schweinsteiger is coming to Madrid. Is he the “winger” they are talking about ?
I think a few Dutchies will be bench warmers this coming season.

Yeah I agree with most. It’s not smart. The Van Gaal – Barca comparison frightens me. Louis also had Jari there (not Dutch, but ex Ajax). It will work against you. Not smart of KJ either. Should have waited. I think Hunter is better equiped for the EPL. Man City for instance, or the Spurs.

Again, I don’t rate Klaas Jan so high.

that wouldnt be a bad line up…. but i hate the fact that real madrid is buying talents from ajax. I really hoped that van basten would keep everyone united and wn the title to make ajax strong again.. if we keep selling our ta;lents how are we going to compete worldly?! fuck real madrid and fuck schuster!

“I really hoped that van basten would keep everyone united and wn the title to make ajax strong again.. ”

this is why i’m very-very sad too. i wanted to see a great ajax again. my dream will never become true – a barca-ajax cl final.

but don’t worry, there is a good chance that schuster will be sacked in 10-11 days;-) if we beat them 5-0,6-1,he won’t remain real’s coach. and now there is a huge, huge difference between the 2 teams.

actually,i think the best real madrid line up is the following (if everybody’s fit except ruud):

casillas – sergio ramos,metzelder,cannavaro,marcelo – sneijder,gago,diarra,vdv – higuain,huntelaar.

Here’s my thought, lets let Real Madrid have all the dutchies for a season, and let them play bad so there value goes down. Then Ajax resigns Huntelaar, van der Vaart and Sneijder, and become a force to be recond with.

haha Dirk ; you recckon in would be a good thing for Oranje if those guys played in De Eredivisie again ??

worst case scenario ; Schuster gets sacked and 2 or 3 of them are benched cause the new guy believes in other players…whatever happens to Real or Schuster im pretty sure Sneijder has little to worry (and im pretty sure Robben will be injured! haha , some things never change)

Goose: concerning our real-boys’ future i have the same feeling. sneijder will always be in the starting eleven, and robben will be injured 8months/12. the hunter might find his place there – if they realize that raul should be replaced,he will be higuain’s partner. they can complement each other. i think ruud will only have cameo appearances, kind of inzaghi. next fall he will be 33 after a serious injury,so he will play at easy games or replace huntelaar at the 60.-70. minute. real will probably sell drenthe next summer to a smaller club. actually they try to find a new winger too. if they do it won’t be too good for drenthe. it means, only vdv will have serious problems. but he did a bad choice because real signed him to replace the injured sneijder. it means, that a new coach probably won’t need him.
anyway, real should sack schuster this winter and find a new coach (juande ramos?) who will have 6 months to think about who he want to keep and who not. considering that next season they probably will play the uefa cup.

Just give them time to gel and they’ll be the best team in the world.

———–Casillas——–

–Ramos–Pepe–Cannavaro–Marcelo

–Vaart–Sneijder–Diarra–Robben

totally agree ferenc ; think vdVaart will be most at risk and hope Drenthe will be out; i really cant stand him

@MR ; the team looks strong on paper but a great team isnt made by only great players… (i would love to have that back 4 in Oranje btw ; we would be champions in 2010)

miguel,is it a joke? with pepe and cannavaro? in this team only casillas (but not the casillas of this fall),ramos (same as casillas),sneijder, vdv (of hamburg) and higuain are – potentially – very good. robben is not a footballer for me. huntelaar has still to proove a lot. but:higuain and hunter even together are less than eto’o (who is now the best striker of the world, and alongside clarence seedorf my favourite footballplayer). even in spain there are 2-3 better teams. and their – and oranje’s – best player, sneijder is not at the same level as xavi. but i don’t want to go into a barca-real debate. since cruijff i has always been an oranje and a barca fan and will remain too. same with oranje: since cruijff i has always been an oranje fan and this is forever.

I’d say Sneijder is technically as skilled as Xavi, if not better, but he just lacks the experience Xavi has. van der Vaart should catch the first plane back to Germany, moving to Spain was terrible, it showed he’s not made of the right stuff. Same thing would happen to C. Ronaldo though.
