Justice for Marco

August 28th, 2006 | By: Jan | 6 Comments »

Roy Makaay misses a huge opportunity for Bayern. The goalie is out of position, on the pitch, Roy dribbles towards an empty goal and misses!

Ruud van Nistelrooy gets a chance he couldn’t miss on a golden plate from Maestro Raul and failes to score!

Davids’ Spurs are really doing lousy!

Van Bommel is sold for scraps to Bayern!

Jan ur reading my mind!! After the real match i said the same thing…. but maybe it’s because the real team is still not at full fitness that van nistelrooy gave a poor display…

Keep in mind that every striker misses chances. Pele missed that awesome chance when he fainted and let the ball slide past the keeper without even touching it first.

Ruud scored two good goals for Madrid last week. I do think that Ruud and Mark are understandable omissions from the squad however. Schaars deserves his shot and Huntelaar is the “wave of the future”.

Marco’s Justice will come from the results during qualifying. For me anyway that’s the best way to prove doubters wrong. At club level situations are always different.

Do you know/remember Darius Vassell? He now plays for Manchester City but he used to play for Aston Villa. His club form was always mediocre but whenever he was called up to the England squad he seemed to be able to kick it up a couple notches.

BTW: Sneijder scored a brace for Ajax this weekend! Atta boy!

Mike, that is 4 for Sneijder in 2 competion games. Odd thing with him really, when he first came up he was considered a spectacular talent but I think his career “stalled” the last few years. I wonder if he is not one that can still mature into a star. Midfielders often take a little longer to develop then strikers. The kid can shoot…

On another note; if you want to look at a team with a lot of Hollands potential future on it, AZ is of to a good start…
Lots of positive going on in the Dutch soccerworld Jan, not all doom and gloom. Kuyt looked great. The cannibal will only get better at Chelsea as well.

I know… I was merely meing ironic. I am a big Ruud fan (not a big Makaay fan) and I do like Sneijder. A lot! He’s smart, good work ethics, perfectly two-footed… I read a great article in the AD on Kuyt’s first match at Anfield and the ovation he got after the match. You just gotta love the guy…

According to the press here, Bayern bought van Bommel for £8 million! Hardly ’scraps’…
