Is it me….?
Or is there less activity in this blog since the lay-out change?
Not that your comments on this question will have any effect on the lay-out future… I mean, it’s not up to me…
But I sense that there is a diminishing intrest…is that so?
I will post some sort of questionaire soon about content and stuff…

No, im not sure but I dont think it has much to do with the layout. I think the thing is that we have discussed all the subjects over and over again and theres not much left to say. It will probably hotten up again in the spring when its time for EC preparations.

Jan, the page is fine and your job as moderatos has been excellent. I truly thank you for posting and translating things in english because I don´t understand Dutch at all. But the new lay out is ok, perhaps I liked it better the other way but it is fine anyways.
And I think Jan that many of us and that is my case is not liking the way things have gone so far since the last World Cup. Mr. van Basten should not be the manager anymore and the KNVB keeps doing the same mistakes all over again. I think that a change will be good and a person like de Haan will freshen up Oranje. But I still support Holland with all my heart and wish the team and Dutch football and its teams all the best of lucks. Hopefully van Basten can turn things right at the end because I don´t wish him bad luck but in reality he has been responsible for many bad decisions. About Dutch football I think it is in good health with the Under 21´s winning two tournaments and there has been a very good production of new talents that in the coming years will establish as some of the finest players in Europe. I don´t want to name them but I am sure the Netherlands will have plenty of reasons to be happy in the next 10 years because this new generations that are coming through have what it takes to be in the top. Believe, the Netherlands will be competing for gold in the next tournaments!

Honestly, I’ve noticed some new faces since the change in layout, so I’d have to say the change is good, at least in the blog. The challenge is in the the national team, as mentioned Marco is Marco and we’re left chewing our nails waiting.
Who watched the Liverpool v. Arsenal game? Dang, Arsenal are sexy, the first half was played at well over the speed limit. If you don’t like the football Arsenal play…your eyes are broken.

I agree! Arsenal plays the best football in Europe (the world?) at the moment. Exciting to see. Even with Viera, Henry and Pires (and Dennis) Arsenal didn’t play this good…

Jan – Lerkot and Rami’s comments are dead on for me. I read everyday. Don’t comment as much as a month or so ago due to time and rehash of ideas/subjects. But your updated news is indispensible for a non-Dutch speaker. Thanks! If this is still going come next summer, I think it will be full during the tournament. You have a loyal following!!

Jan: i read this blog everyday, several times each day, have no problem with the new layout. your posts are really interesting and keep us beeing informed about dutch and dutch-related football. thanks for your activity. i like the comments as well. i write a little bit less than before because i have not too much to say about oranje at the moment (i don’t want to write 100 times that marco is not the man for the job, barca is more dutch team than real or ajax’s only money-oriented policy is catastrophic for the dutch football, etc.).

agree Ferenc; like Lerkot already said; ‘most of what should have been said/written already has
we all know Marco is the wrong man for the job
we all know 4-3-3 is not the best system to play with with this group of players
we all know well qualify for the EC
we all know theres no hope of glory for us at the EC08
but yeah; cant stress it enough..Jan you doi great work and this page is one i look at sevaral times a day (and at night when a little boy is awake!)
grtz
btw; Jol was a footballshow (via telephone) and they asked him if he would be interested in managing Oranje.. he said; ofcourse but first im going off on holiday for a few weeks… so who knows in the future Big M.J. could be our manager!

Keep up the good work! For this reader, it is so rare to find good articles and informed opinions on Dutch football. Canada is a great country but, like my dad, Go Holland Go!

I agree with many of the comments that have been received regarding this terrific blog (what is a blog, anyway?), and would add one more item for consideration. As stated by many, Jan does such a terrific job informing us of what is happening with Dutch football, that the lay-out is irrelevant. For me, there are many days when I simply read the reports and comments, and have nothing to add. The regular responders cover the subject very well, so why be redundant? For instance, Goose provides a great summary in a response to this report, which apparently is agreed to by most of us regular readers. We all seem to see the issues related to the national team the same way, so why beat it to death with constant repetitions. Based on the many responses to Jan’s inquiry, it is apparent that the blog is alive and well and an important part of the lives of many of us who love Netherlands football in its many manifestations. HUP HOLLAND and HUP JAN!

Blog great.
Reduced reading could be for two reasons.
1) THe number of comments shows as 0, even if people have commented. Discourages one from going in.
2) It appears to take more time to click in than before.
Maybe bring back the flags to click on? They were the fastest way before.

Just regularly posting news that’s hard to find on english sites is fantastic, I check the site everyday.
Weekend results and tracking how Dutch players are going is great as well. =D

It kind of makes me wonder why Goose keeps coming back.
Goose, you probably get all the Oranje info you need through local media. So most of the posts here are probably not news to you. Do you just like ‘hanging out’ with us? Just wondering

@Stephen; valid question! haha… 1. i bleed Oranje 2. actually dont know of a dutch Oranje blog 3. Like the fact that non-dutch or people of dutch descent follow Oranje and i like to help Jan in keeping those people up to date 4. Like debating, thinking about football
and at very last; just like ‘hanging out’with you guys!! hahaha

I agree with everyone, the blog is fantastic, the best source of news on all dutch football related topics. I don’t mind the new layout either, the old one was a little better I think, but I’m getting used to this one.
Personally, the reason I don’t comment as much as I did before the format change is because there are lots of games to watch now as opposed to the before. Let me explain: I don’t get games on t.v. here in Japan, so I have to download all my games, and therefore there is at least a day delay before I can watch them. And I cut off all contact from places that might spoil the games for me (including this blog), and so every weekend and a few days after I cut myself off from this blog. Then when I finish watching all the games I come here and catch up on all the news, and by then it seems strange to comment on old blogs (like I’m doing right now). So that’s why I comment less than before.
But I love the blog and I don’t think you need to worry about less comments. Keep up the good work!
