I guess only 8% of the Dutch population think Marco van Basten did the right thing by leaving Huntelaar out.

He seems to be pretty mature and I think on some level he understands but he will still feel he should have been picked.

Again, I think v Basten didn’t handle it well with the media. He was asked by kids, during a kids interview, if he would take Huntelaar to Germany. He said, yes and he will be our topscorer with 12 goals. Now, talking about managing expectations. Those remarks, albeit tongue in cheek, made headlines in Holland…

I absolutely agree that van Basten didn’t do a good job. I was certain Huntelaar had already been chosen and I bet Klaas Jan did too.
