Really what stood out most of all is how little the teams resemble the style of play of the national team. Spain tries to plays like Barca, Italy like Juventus, England like Liverpool, Every Dutch team tries to play like Holland etc etc. But hey, watch these Bundesliga teams with their Brazilian/Turks/East European/Italians/Dutchies and the occasional German and you'll see an amazing style of play. I agree with you that clubs certainly don't have to splash out money like what Real Madrid is doing now, but leagues that invest in talented players tend to be more interesting to follow. One other thing is that I always regarded Bayern Munich to be the best club in the Bundesliga, and right, they have a squad full of talented players, many from the German national team. Its great to watch except when Engelaar played :(.
