Hot news: Rijkaard wants in on Oranje
This is hot news from Spain:
Frank Rijkaard expressed his wishes to be involved with Oranje again, last Sunday during a candid chat with a reporter from Futbol. Not as team manager, but as one of Marco’s assistants during the EC.
“Marco is one of my best friends. I would really love to work under him. I totally follow his decisions and vision for the team. I’m also a pretty good card-player myself. We might need a bit of an older guy on board as well, at the EC. I like Willem van Hanegem, but he’s been there already. If Willem doesn’t want to come along, I’d like to talk Jan Reker to do it. He is a great scout and analist.”

This could be the one thing (other than canning vB altogether) that would steer Oranje in the right direction…
Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening though. I can’t see vB wanting to have a world class coach like Rijkaard behind his back all the time…

Why does he need Rijkaard, he and all his 1988 friends like Witsche and van ‘t Schip all think alike…maybe he want Rijkaard so they can have a card-playing-group of 4!! If i were the KNVB (which im not!) i would hire an old, proven manager who could compliment vanBasten…maybe Rijkaard feels the urge to defend vanBasten like he did during the ‘vanGaal’discussion a few months ago…little incest group!!!

My friends:
Rijkaard will never be van Basten´s assistant. I can´t imagine a coach like Rijkaard that has won a champions league tournament as assistant. Anyway, I read that van Gaal already mentioned in his new contract with AZ that he would like to coach Holland again. I am positive that he can do a better job than Marco van Basten since van Gaal is a proven coach, he failed once the Netherlands coach but he is wiser right now. For some he is a unbearable person but we are not talking of a person´s character right now. In any job you are going to be judged by your results and if you get positive results then you can have whatever character you may have but if you follow the correct path what does it matter if you have an awful character?. Anyway, I like van Gaal´s agressive attitude, he foments positive thinking and mental strenght into his players heads and at club level has won it all regardless of what everybody says. Remember those days at Ajax from 1994 to 1996 when the Ajax team was considered the best team in the world under his commands. Then went to Barcelona and won La Liga twice in a row (just like Rijkaard)and just because he could not win the Champions League the people from Catalunia crucified him when Barclona has won that trophy only twice in their more that 100 year life of the club. That is simply unfair to van Gaal. When he was coach of the National team he had Bergkamp just retired of the squad (the best player of Netherlands at that time), van Nistelrooy injured at the beginning of the 2002 WC qualification and in the games vs. Portugal and Ireland at home had so many injuries that had to play players like Talan and Bruggink and handle debuts to players like van Bommel, Melchiot and Bouma. And then at the crucial game vs Ireland we had suspended Frank de Boer and Edgar Davids due to some undoubtful sanction of prohibited substances ingestion, according to the doctors that examined them. Instead of killing van Gaal we should make a good analysis of all his acomplisments and at the end compare the acomplisments he has achieved in his coaching career to other of the coaches that are considered as possible candidates in the future.
I think that in the near future Louis van Gaal will coach a big national team as he is doing a great job with AZ, if he does win the UEFA cup this year, the National teams that he said he would like to coach will fight for his services and those teams are Germany, Argentina, Spain, England and Holland…these are teams that nowadays are not having a great run so why not try van Gaal. This peculiar coach is a person with a passionate spirit that sometimes says very crazy teams but most of the times he gets where he wants to be and that has to be admired, ok, he failed badly with Holland but has won lots and lots of trophys, are we perfect, haven´t we failed sometime in our lives???. I bet everybody in this life has failed sometimes but the most important thing is to get up and fight again and that is what van Gaal has done so far.
For last, my prediction, Ajax champion of Holland this 2006-2007 campaign, Chelsea and Liverpool the most likely champions of the Champions League and van Basten out of Oranje before this 2007 ends. The new coach is not to me to decide but I´go for van Gaal but I am a flexible 25 year old guy so I think that Hiddink, Rijkaard, Fope de Haan and Adrianesse can be a good choice also. I wanna see the Dutch National Team playing like we know they can because we have a bright future in our Euro under 21´s champions, now it is too early to say but in some years we will be very proud of this players that will give Holland and oranje fans around the world a new illusion just like at some time other legendary players did.

I correct a sentence:
This peculiar coach is a person with a passionate spirit that sometimes says very crazy THINGS. hehe, my soccer passion confused me. Sorry guys, talk to you later.
