Happy New Year: Predictions for 2009!

December 31st, 2008 | By: Jan | 9 Comments »

A wonderful, prosperous and healthy 2009 for all of you, my friends!

My Crystal Ball ™ told me the following last night:

* Van Marwijk qualifies easily for the WC2010 (duh…), but
* he clashes with son-in-law Van Bommel, who announces never to play under Van Marwijk anymore and to divorce Bert’s daughter…
* Van der Sar begs to return to Oranje
* KNVB’s Henk Kelser retires and Johan Cruyff is elected as his successor, only to…
* leave after three days (” I explained my policy to the staff six times, but they don’t seem to get it…)
* Dick Advocaat wants the job but is laughed away
* Louis van Gaal claims he can combine the job with his work at AZ, but eventually
* Ruud Gullit takes it, sacking the older male employees replacing them by a couple of blond hardbodies…
* Steve McClaren is signed by Manchester City, allowing for the return of Fred Rutten to Twente
* Huub Stevens replaces Rutten in Schalke and Leo Beenhakker takes the coaching job at PSV
* Ajax technical director Van Basten sacks coach Van Basten (gives him a bonus as he leaves) and he replaces himself by Dennis Bergkamp. Verbeek is asked to leave but Feyenoord can only pay him some consumption-coupons. He refuses and coaches Feyenoord to the number 5 spot in the standings.
* AZ wins the title and plays CL football next season. Number 5 Feyenoord wins the play offs and picks up the second CL ticket.
* Mario Been is courted by Twente before they sign Rutten, but Been only wants to work for Feyenoord, AC Milan, Real Madrid or Man United.
* AC Milan doesn’t like these statements, since they need to play NEC in the UEFA Cup finals
* Real Madrid wins the Champions League ( 6-1 against Arsenal: Van Persie 0-1, Sneijder 1-1, Vaart 2-1, Robben 3-1, Drenthe 4-1, Huntelaar 5-1, Van Gol 6-1).
* In the summer, Madrid signs Zuiverloon, Daley Blind, Robin van Persie, Stijn Schaars and 40 year old goalie Rob van Dijk…
* Barca loses it in the second half of the season, sacking Pep Guardiola and signing Co Adriaanse as coach
* Barca’s Laporte: “We need to go Dutch again, we’ll make a move for El Hamdaoui, De Zeeuw, Wijnaldum, Fer, Biseswar, De Guzman and Landzaat…”
* Feyenoord’s key players are fit, but now Verbeek, Wim Jansen, Leon Vlemmings, the club doctor, the groundsmen, four stewards and the laundry lady are out with hamstring injuries…

Happy New Year!

My prediction: Oranje fan will continue to argue what was the real reason that Holland lost to Russia in EC08.:)

Didn’t get this one:
“Ajax technical director Van Basten sacks coach Van Basten (gives him a bonus as he leaves)”. Was it a typo of Danny Blind or you meant Marco would become technical director himself?

Funny shit, Jan. Happy New Year!

Arent Erecivisie CL “playoffs” over anyway? I thought top 2 went now. Or at least #2 is in 3rd round of Cl qualifiers.

Oops…no more play offs this year? I missed that…

It wasn’t a typo. I think Danny Blind is sort of technical coordinator but offically Marco is the top dog. Blind reports into Marco. So TD Marco could sack coach Marco :-)

That playoff thing for CL was silly anyway. Only country to have it (as far as I know).

Not that it matters anymore anyway. It is pretty sad when Ronaldo’s old club, Sporting Lesbian (sorry typo Lisbon), is the worst team left in the last 16.

They have absolutely ruined any excitement of the initial stages of that competition, although I love the upcoming match upsthough. Who wouldn’t?

Happy New Year to all!!!

At the start of the year, I hope many people will change their wrong doings. But at the same time, we will have our own predictions for this year about our lives. I don’t know whether my predictions about payday loans will turn out to be accurate, but if I’m wrong, at least I’ll be in good company. I found an article that looks back on some predictions for 2008. Authors, businessmen and even the president were way off in predictions they made for the year that is coming to a close. That just goes to show that no one can tell the future. Based on predictions about oil prices, “the market” and Barack Obama, it seems 2008 was full of surprises. To read about predictions gone wrong and some thoughts on payday loans, check out this article.

Wow Alfredo, can I really get a payday loan!?!?! How do I sign up?? Can I just give you my SIN number and credit card number and then expect the money in my account within two hours??
Get lost or start talking football.
