Frank de Boer licensed to coach

June 5th, 2007 | By: Jan | 4 Comments »

Frank de Boer is licensed to coach and train a professional football club. The ex record capped international was one of 16 students who got the highest degree in coaching in Holland, the studies “Coach Betaald Voetbal”.

For now, De Boer is youth coach at Ajax. Other names in the class of 2007 are former Ajax players John van de Brom, Alfons Groenendijk (current Ajax assistant coach), John van Loen (assistant FC Utrecht coach), Zeljko Petrovic (former Feyenoord assistant coach) and Rob Witschge. The latter name is a remarkable one, since he is one of Marco van Basten’s assistants at Oranje, where he regularly performs training-sessions. And did so without the formal license. Where as people in the past got in trouble for doing this (Johan Cruyff is one example), now the KNVB employs a coach who did not have the right papers….

I think Frank will be a good coach, he is passionate and a true leader.
Marco with no experience to coach and Rob didn’t even have a license, now I understand why Holland is playing so bad!!!.

well, told youm guys already, vanBasten and his crew are a laugh..theyre learning their trade at the expence of our beloved Oranje…he has around him a group of friends who all have about the same experiences and ideas about football..thinks its better to have as much views as possible (well not over do it ofcourse)..they all should go away and go back to playing golf and spending their money…

i honestly dont know if deBoer would be a great manager..i dont doubt his vision of the game but i wonder if he has the charisma and the talking qualities wich a coach needs to work at a big club…his bad way of talking dutch and the way his accent sounds (west-frisian for those interested) is legendary in Holland..i think he may be a better man behind the scene…

guess well find out pretty quick..think the KNVB will appoint him as Bondscoach before some amateur club gets hold of him, hahaha

grtz

btw: vdVaart will be captain tomorrow, first time for him..hes actually the most capped player (Gio out)

I don’t see Frank as a potential top coach either. As a player he was very harsh on his team mates. His communication skills are questionable, like Goose said… I think a guy like Alfons Groenendijk will emerge as a good coach. Good communicator, gaining experience at Ajax, smart….
