Four Dutchies “safe” at Real Madrid

July 8th, 2009 | By: Jan | 54 Comments »

Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Arjen Robben and Ruud van Nistelrooy don’t have to fear for their spot in the Real Madrid selection. These four didn’t get the “move out” message.

Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Royston Drenthe did, however. Both received a phone call confirming there’s no space in the group for them next season.

AC Milan already put in an offer for The Hunter, while Man United apparently is considering doing the same. Drenthe was planning to move to Fiorentina. The deal seemed done but now it appears there’s still reasons why the clubs haven’t reached an agreement. Real Madrid doesn’t want to sell the ex-Feyenoord player, but prefers to loan him out.

Sigi Lens, Drenthe’s manager: “Real wants to play without flankers next season which they want to loan Drenthe out. They do want to consider selling him but they want the buy-back option in that case.

The situation for the aforementioned Dutch players seems to alright. Sneijder: “The club management assured me I won’t need to leave, although I do know and realize that getting a starting position is going to be tough.” Van der Vaart adds to that: “So do I, but I won’t run away from that. I’m ready to take any one on.”

Van Nistelrooy and Robben aren’t to worried either. Ruud’s manager Linse: “Ruud isn’t even ready to start. He’s still coming back from injury and he will commence the group training soon. No one has mentioned anything to us.” Robben’s manager and dad Hans Robben: “The situation hasn’t changed for Arjen. Real signed new players, that’s all. We’ll see what happens.”

This Friday, the four will start their pre-season warm up in Madrid and welcome C Ronaldo, Kaka, Abiol and Benzema as their new colleagues.

They should leave, only not ASAP, but As Soon As F*cking Humanly Possible.
I think it’s plain idiotic that Real bought Benzema, who’s the same type of player as Higuain, yet has never really impressed at top level. On top of that, they want to dump Huntelaar, who in my opinion is on the verge of becoming one of the worlds best strikers, if he’s given a full season with a top side. Just look at his record at Ajax, it is easily 1 for every match, and he scored 8 goals in 20 games in a shitty period for Real, of which about 5-8 were by far complete matches.
There’s only one conclusion to make, Sneijder, V.d.Vaart, Huntelaar, Robben are world class players, Real sucks, and blames them for their own mismanagement.

Real should just file for bankruptcy. Because that is what they are.

Count me in as another in the anti-Real Madrid crowd. All Dutchies must leave that greedy soul-sucking club. Why stay where you are disrespected? I think the new “galacticos” and their huge egos will very quickly implode on each other and Barcelona, which is a real team, will destroy them in La Liga (I hope). Then Huntelaar, vd Vaart, Sneijder and Robben can come back with their new clubs and destroy them some more.

I just hope the Dutch boys aren’t trying to stay just for the sake of being stubborn like the way some of my Dutch relatives are (joke).

As for Huntelaar going to Man. U , I think he would form a great partnership with Rooney there and score a pile of goals. Huntelaar>Rooney>Berbatov>Owen.

PS: I do have a lot of respect for Kaka though and I’d hate to see him get caught between some giant battle of egomaniac sulkers.

Yeah Vfb Stuttgart are making a play for Hunter.

And Vlaar scored for Feyenoord :-) .

And yes, ego and stubborness makes the lads stay at Madrid, typical…

stuttgart’s a good place for huntelaar to go in my opinion. champions league football, one of the top teams in bundesliga. why go somewhere like man u and risk only playing 10-15 games in a season when he would be almost certain to play like 35 with stuttgart. would be a lot better for his WC 2010 chances to get the number 9 shirt.

Guys:

For me Robben should be the one staying. He can be very valuable and can establish a great attack with Kaká and Cristiano Ronaldo. About Sneijder and van der Vaart I think they both have to leave or at least one of them should leave otherwise one of them will be in the bench the whole season for sure. Ruud…well, if he recovers his form he will start, but due to his age and the long term absence he´s had it will be very tough for him to achieve that. If I were him I would move to another team where he can still play for titles but not with Madrid. Drenthe…well, I won´t talk about this buddy now…perhaps later =)… and JKH should go to England for sure.

@Mario: you’re right, only robben has real chance to be in the starting eleven if they don’t get ribery. rvn should move after his injury and especially because madrid probably will play in 4-2-3-1 which means that 4 players will be for one position: benzema (they didn’t sign him for the bench),higuain, raul, ruud (i don’t count huntelaar because he certainly will leave). sneijder and vdv are stupid if they want to stay despite all these signings and rumours. madrid probably will sign a world class holding midfielder too (de rossi, xabi alonso are the candidats – i read cesc as well, but it’s impossible – a catalan will never play there). i cannot see any place for sneijder and vdv in the starting eleven. hopefully they realise that they play with their world cup participation…

They have spent a lot of cash and want some back. They know the Dutch are the ones who can help them cashing in more $ than any other players in the team so my guess is they’ll get rid of 3 or 4 of our boys in order to have a balance.

2 or 3 should stay.

1) Robben.
2) Sneijder or Van der Vaart.
3) Ruud or Huntelaar.

In my opinion Robben can be the best player of the world.

I remember the media comparing Messi vs Robben 1 day before El Clasico. Of course, Barca won because they have the best team of the world and nobody remembered about Robben but if Robben had been surrounded by players like Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, Busquets, Eto’o, etc.. what’d have happended if Robben was the one playing with these lads?.

Real Madrid has had a very mediocre team so buying players like Ronaldo, Kaká and Albiol was a good decision but the center forward position was already too crowded with Ruud, Huntelaar, Raul, Saviola and Higuain. Last season Huntelaar scored 8 goals in 8 games.

Guys, this is my last comment on this blog :-(

The Netherlands BlogGods have made Castelen an offer to moderate this and he’ll take the job. He’s doing it part time next to bringing World Peace and producing Britney Spears next million dollar selling album.

I’m sorry Tiju, we will stop it soon :-)

I think Huntelaar won’t go to Stuttgart, he only left Ajax for a real topclub, you think he’s gonna downgrade just because Perez wants to screw him over. No, I think he has his mind set on Man united or AC Milan rather than Stuttgart.

These star players are stupid some times. Why would Hunter move to RM, when he knows was a substitute for RVN. Then VDV or Wes say that will stay and try their best to play. Tell you what, Kaka will play even if he was not able to kick the ball. His name is enough to make him start over any guy. I dont care about positions, but the coach will be forced to played the “Marketing Players”.

Wes, Hunter, Vart, .. do your self good and move to AC Milan, Arsenal, Byren, …etc start, score goals, win trophies, play for the national team, and have chance to win the world cup. Dont be stupid and play 20 minutes and be happy about it.

don’t worry, some of them will go. they only talk but once they face the harsh reality will change their mind. apart from money there is no reason of sitting on the bench and playing copa del rey football and cl group games when it doesn’t matter.
