Feyenoord reclaims third spot…

March 12th, 2008 | By: Jan | 2 Comments »

And AZ is in misery. The top fixture AZ – Feyenoord turned into a match between a wanna-be champ and a team desperately trying to avoid the relegation area. True! Well, AZ couldn’t make a fist on their home turf. They got 2 opportunities and scored none. Feyenoord let AZ struggle, created two opps as well and scored one. End of story : 0-1. A Luigi Bruins cross, perfectly scored by neo International Jonathan De Guzman.

All good for Feyenoord, who are back with their ol’ friends Ajax and PSV. It wasn’t all good news. Roy Makaay got injured (ankle) and needed to leave Alkmaar on crutches! Michael Mols (37 yrs old) will be his replacement for now.

And on the managerial side of things: Gert Jan Verbeek, the current Heerenveen manager, is claimed to be the number 1 choice to replace Bert van Marwijk next season in Rotterdam.
