It's basically the only other prize after the title. So, in that way, it helps the club with their records, status and all. And of course it gives you a starting ticket into the UEFA Cup. The KNVB has been all over the place policy wise over the last years. Different set-ups every year, questionable draws, different dates for the finals, different venues...etc. So, winning the cup in Holland is nothing compared to winning the FA cup. But, it's a relatively easy prize to win. You only need to win maybe three tough games in a series of 7 (or 8) and you can call yourself the cup winner.
