FC Twente forgets to take a point from Man City!

Losing against the richest club in the world is not something to be ashamed of, but FC Twente will look back with a hangover when they lost 3-2 against Manchester City.
In the last second of the game, Stein Huysegems had the 3-3 on his boot, but the Belgium international rocketed the ball over the goal wildly. Steve McClaren dropped on the ground in shear dismay. How he’d love to take a point from his own country. Man City should have put this game away many times though…
It was an unequal battle, on the pitch and in particular on paper. FC Twente has the highest budged ever ( 30 Mio euros), but for Sheik Bin Zayed, this is peanuts. The new owner of The Citizens recently shelled out 42 Mio euros for Robinho.
Twente started nervous and was completely played off the pitch by the English stars. In the third minute, Wright-Philips started a one-two combination with the backheel and finished it himself: 1-0.
After 15 minutes, Twente fought themselves back into the game and 21 year old magician Elia projected himself from midfield to score the 1-1.
McClaren’s team proved to be a worthy opponent, but in the beginning of the second half, Robinho paid some dividends: 2-1. Only 5 minutes later, sub Benjani scored the 3-1 through a deflection.
Twente seemed knock-out, but showed mental power. Wielaert scored the 3-2 out of a Hersi corner kick and while Huysegems would miss two chances to grab a point in Manchester.
The defeat is not a disaster though, Twente needs three more points, normally, to secure their pass to go through.
McClaren: “This is a disappointment, really. We could have gotten something here. When they scored so early and pushes us back, I feared for a very long night… But looking back now, I’m sad we weren’t a tad more lucky. We got three major chances when it was 3-2 and we could have given them a blow. But, I think we did well, considering the differences between us and them, but we sadly go home empty handed…”

I wonder if Mara would have scored with the hand of God against Sar!

Oooh, Aaahh, Vann Daaahh Sah not having a particular good outing today at Emirates. Some very sloppy and suspect field work. Ronaldo just missed a sitter too. Nasri and Cesc looking very good for the Arse though.
