Rigters is not injured as far as i know but he seems to not be good enough to be with the first 16 and hes sitting on the stands..

never believed that Rigters was any good..he never even made it to the first team of NAC Breda! hes too slow, not skilled enough and doenst seem to have any other special qualities…NAC will be so glad to sell a replacement like Rigters for that amount of money…
he would be ok for a decent dutch team like Heerenveen, Groningen, Twente…dont think hes even good enough for Feyenoord/Psv/Ajax

still dont like Kluivert

people, just a few more days and things will start to get interesting with Oranje… high hopes anybody?? hahaha

Hi Felix, I believe De Ridder got injured, indeed in the pre-season. Rigters I don’t know, really…

I agree with the kudos for Kluivert. He was an exceptional player and just a bit sad off the pitch. I would have liked to see more of him in his top years… But alas…

Kluivert has given Holland some amazing moments.

Remember his goal vs Brazil, his goals vs Belgium, Argentina, Yugoslavia, etc, etc???.

He threw away his career, I totally agree but I think he must remembered as the player who gave us so much satisfactions. He was the type of player that appeared on big games and tournaments.

He could be playing bad at his club but when he wore the Orange uniform he performed and killed himself, he loved the national team and we have to remember that they are also humans that can make mistakes (just look at Maradona).

Jan, do u have latest news about Daniel de Ridder and Marco Righters?

Are they injured?

I’ve never seen they played for Birmingham and Blacburn, even as substitute…….

@goose: cruyff said earlier that it would be very risky to line up the “fantastic four” (i hate this expression which remembers me to the “galacticos”),so the press wasn’t surprised at all. meanwhile they all should play against this kind of not too strong teams. i’m sure that rijkaard will be able to handle the situation because he’s a very good people-manager and everybody like him at barcelona.

@Pim; the story i know is that he got in to a fight over some traffic incident and threw a few punches..(not very sure..any takers?)

other Davids ‘fight’ stories:
1. asked vanBommel to step outside at the end (or half time) of a Oranje game.. Mark stayed inside
2. asked Roy Keane to step outside, forgot that Keane was an amateur boxer and got his ass whipped!! hahahah

well i guess somethimes as a famous person you get to believe in your own imagi too much…he was built as this terrier and he started to behave like one more and more…

@Mario; yes he was injured at Newcaste, Valencia but he was not fit cause all of the partying..thats what i mean; he real pro steps up when the going gets a bit tougher..when the body doenst heal like it did when you were 18 (remember those days people..we were young and free, haha), thats what happened
still think he got lucky with the Oranje team he played in but ofcousre he had talent (never denied that btw)

we can agree on the fact that it has been a bit of a waste

well, thats surprising..(what did the papers say about that? or was it no surprise?? looks like Rijkaard will have a tough year keeping all his famous strikers happy…interesting to see how he handles it (maybe vanBasten should take a good look)

maybe on Sneijider..its still early days but we all know he a more then decent player
