Exciting Kluivert news!!

August 28th, 2007 | By: Jan | 19 Comments »

Patrick Kluivert, Oranje’s all-time top scorer, trains with Young Ajax. According to a spokesperson of Ajax, Patrick Kluivert wants to keep fit for that potential new club and forms a part of the Ajax 2 team… Cynics already expressed their belief that it won’t take long for Marco van Basten to actually select Patrick for Oranje :-).

Danny Koevermans said NO to an offer from Betis Sevilla. The Spanish side already came to a deal with AZ, but The Koev doesn’t want to move to Spain. AZ’s topscorer of last season would prefer to stay in The Netherlands. (WHY??? THE WEATHER???).

Hedwiges Maduro won’t travel with Ajax to Prague due to an injury. Midfielder Gabri is fit to play and replaces Maduro.

I hate Kluivert! i actually always have…for me as a non-ajax fan this came kinda natural…Kluivert had many problems in Holland;
killing a man while speeding, getting accused of rape

sure, Kluivert has talent, no doubt about that but his menatlity is pathetic…always more interested in going to a party then do some extra training etc.

dont forget; Kluivert has always played in very strong teams:
Ajax 95
Oranje 95-00
Barca

and then when he moved to lesser teams he was of no use (newcastle, psv)

really love it that he now has to play with young-ajax…maybe know hell realise he f it all up…hes only 31 but hasnt played decent since 2000!!!

he always had players in Oranje like Bergkamp, Overmars, deBoer etc., true is all time oranje goalscorer but he didnt make those goals himself..thats why i think he was always overrated

f Kluivert

@goose: i understand that you don’t like him but he didn’t kill the victim intentionally (for me killing means mainslaughter with intention), it was an accident due to his excess speeding. the problem is that he should have gone to jail and he didn’t because he’s patrick kluivert… and i’m quite sure that this rape story was a bullshit - try to imagine he was young, good looking, rich and famous - he needdn’t rape any girl. i guess the girl wanted to blackmail him. similar to the van persie story… lots of girl trie to do the same.

sure patrick was a lazy bastard prefering the nightlife to heavy trainings, and he has an ego too…

but i still love him and when i see his name somewhere all my nostalgies come to surface and i see the great ajax, oranje, van gaal’s barca. patrick, edgar, clarence, reiziger, and even frank rijkaard…

i do not think that he was overrated

strange that he was born the same day as rvn. two totally different careers: when patrick was on the peak (1994-2000) no one knew anything about ruud. when ruud had become famous (2001) patrick was already a has been.
personally i think patrick was more talented but his mentality was extremely bad. ruud is more useful for his teams and he’s a warrior but with less talent than patrick had. unfortunately it means nothing because in the history of football we have seen so many f***ing talented guys who failed because of mental weakness. kluivert could have become a second pele but he prefered the nightlife…

@ferenc; point taken on the killing..but its just part of a moregeneral problem with Kluivert

the vanNiselrooy ‘thing’is funny i think…Ruud has had a long way to the top (Den Bosch, Heerenveen, Psv) he has no great technical skills (for a top player that is) Kluivert was there all of a sudden at a very young age (18-19?), he had all the skills…never needed to work as hard as Ruud had to do..yeat Ruud has only grown stronger with the years, Kluivert has gotten worse each year..
also remember that vanNistelrooy and Kluivert as strikers in Oranje together never worked

as for talent; it can be only more then talent if you have the talent to use your talent (what a messy line, hope you know what i mean), talent is not just playing good football, talent is also getting the most out of your qualities

can imagine that he brings memories of better times..i only rember the waste!!

btw: way was Henry on the bench..is he injured??

Kluivert was a star and nobody can say nothing about ir. Unfortunately and very stupid of him to choose the wrong way but he already has marked history by winning and scoring the champions league goal that made Ajax champion of Europe in 1995 and by being Holland´s all time biggest scorer. I like him a lot but I have to recognize that I feell kinda sorry for him because he is the only responsible of killing his career. But he never shone at Newcastle, Valencia and PSV not because he had no the same amount of quality in the squad but because he was all the time injured, I am pretty sure Kluivert at his peak would have been succesful anywhere like he was before his injuries and parties. Hope the best for him but I doubt a lot he can play again professional soccer, most clubs do not want a player like him nowadays.

very sad news: R.I.P. Roberto Antonio Puerta

about patrick: i’m quite sure that this is the end of his career. maybe 1 or 2 years in the usa or one arabic country, and that’s all.

@goose: eto’o played instead of henry. the classic tridente: messi, eto’o,dinho. titi replaced leo in the 65. minute. (vv - zambrotta, thuram, oleguer, abidal - xavi, yaya toure, iniesta - messi, eto’o,dinho was the starting line-up. henry replaced messi, deco replaced yaya, rafa marquez replaced zambrotta. unfortunately it was a very poor performance, but i am - and more importantly, frankie too is - confident.)

one thing seems sure: real did really well to sign sneijder.

well, thats surprising..(what did the papers say about that? or was it no surprise?? looks like Rijkaard will have a tough year keeping all his famous strikers happy…interesting to see how he handles it (maybe vanBasten should take a good look)

maybe on Sneijider..its still early days but we all know he a more then decent player

@Mario; yes he was injured at Newcaste, Valencia but he was not fit cause all of the partying..thats what i mean; he real pro steps up when the going gets a bit tougher..when the body doenst heal like it did when you were 18 (remember those days people..we were young and free, haha), thats what happened
still think he got lucky with the Oranje team he played in but ofcousre he had talent (never denied that btw)

we can agree on the fact that it has been a bit of a waste

@Pim; the story i know is that he got in to a fight over some traffic incident and threw a few punches..(not very sure..any takers?)

other Davids ‘fight’ stories:
1. asked vanBommel to step outside at the end (or half time) of a Oranje game.. Mark stayed inside
2. asked Roy Keane to step outside, forgot that Keane was an amateur boxer and got his ass whipped!! hahahah

well i guess somethimes as a famous person you get to believe in your own imagi too much…he was built as this terrier and he started to behave like one more and more…

@goose: cruyff said earlier that it would be very risky to line up the “fantastic four” (i hate this expression which remembers me to the “galacticos”),so the press wasn’t surprised at all. meanwhile they all should play against this kind of not too strong teams. i’m sure that rijkaard will be able to handle the situation because he’s a very good people-manager and everybody like him at barcelona.

Jan, do u have latest news about Daniel de Ridder and Marco Righters?

Are they injured?

I’ve never seen they played for Birmingham and Blacburn, even as substitute…….

What a pity!

Kluivert has given Holland some amazing moments.

Remember his goal vs Brazil, his goals vs Belgium, Argentina, Yugoslavia, etc, etc???.

He threw away his career, I totally agree but I think he must remembered as the player who gave us so much satisfactions. He was the type of player that appeared on big games and tournaments.

He could be playing bad at his club but when he wore the Orange uniform he performed and killed himself, he loved the national team and we have to remember that they are also humans that can make mistakes (just look at Maradona).

Hi Felix, I believe De Ridder got injured, indeed in the pre-season. Rigters I don’t know, really…

I agree with the kudos for Kluivert. He was an exceptional player and just a bit sad off the pitch. I would have liked to see more of him in his top years… But alas…

Rigters is not injured as far as i know but he seems to not be good enough to be with the first 16 and hes sitting on the stands..

never believed that Rigters was any good..he never even made it to the first team of NAC Breda! hes too slow, not skilled enough and doenst seem to have any other special qualities…NAC will be so glad to sell a replacement like Rigters for that amount of money…
he would be ok for a decent dutch team like Heerenveen, Groningen, Twente…dont think hes even good enough for Feyenoord/Psv/Ajax

still dont like Kluivert

people, just a few more days and things will start to get interesting with Oranje… high hopes anybody?? hahaha
