Eredivisie Action!!

Suarez knees Didulica in the head…
It’s getting exciting!
We may not have a strong competition like the EPL (ManU 2-0 down, fighting back to 5-2) or the Spanish Liga (Real four points behind Barca now: El Classico next weekend!!) but it sure is fun.
Champs AZ had to travel to Ajax and Marco’s team really wants the second spot. The title holder got the lead, 1-0 but Suarez could equalize through a penaly. But the inconsistent Uruguayan decided to do it with an Panenka. Aussie goalie Didulica stopped the ball but got kneed in the head by Suarez in the follow through. An ambulance with blazing sirenes had to come onto the pitch to take the unconscious goalie to the hospital. Stijn Schaars already had received a silly red card by the horrible ref and the spectacle ended in 1-1. Although, Ajax could have scored 4 times in the second half and hit the woodwork thrice!

Suarez ponders his action while the AZ goalie is being treated…
Twente drew against Heerenveen, so the race for the second spot is still full on!
Feyenoord won their spectacle away game against ADO Den Haag thanks to two Tomasson goals and the Makaay winner: 2-3.
Feyenoord moves up to UEFA Cup spots, while FC Utrecht ( taking a beating 6-1 at Vitesse) and NEC drift down in the tables.

Nice to see goose is back.
Manu played an extraordinary game so they thrashed the opponent.Sorry finni no hope for poolians.
Maduro was superb against barca he never urinated infront of messy the mesiah and co.only the thing is he needd to keep his fitness consistant, a tall central diffender with vision and superb brain.
and my question?????// AZ may won the title but which is the most thretening and dangerous team in eredivise?????????/Ajax?????????.
Znijder and inesta.
For me Inesta is better skilled and znijder has Freekicks in his boots.
Inesta is unselfish znijder is slighly selffish. So finaly inesta gets slight edge over znijder.(remmber Znijder was better man in EC).
So another quetion when will de Guzman get fitness back??????//
Feynoord will recover very soon and we will see a thirsty feynoord next year.

does anyone know how is Didulica´s health right now?

@Mario: Didulica is still in hospital. According to an AZ statement, he’s improving, but it’s still early to say how will be his recovering and how long it’ll takes. Suarez sent him an SMS to apologize.
Changing subjects: Klinsmann dismissed by Bayern… Louis, are you there?

jan, i’m glad you think that getting kicked in the head time after time for the sake of football is ‘fun’. i pray that you or someone in your family never has to endure what we are going through now. i hope that you soon learn to look beyond your attempt at ‘exciting’ journalism and see things for what they are. footballers are humans who have feelings, families and extreme vulnerability for serious injury.
mario, thank you for your concern about didulica. Thank god he is recovering in the right direction. the next 48 hours are crucial especially since this is his 13th or 14h concussion – we have lost count. but god willing, he will be well again.

The words “exciting” and “fun” were not used in reference to the injury of Didulica; they were used to describe the climatic end of the season between Twente and Ajax. I’m sorry for the hard time you’re going through, but that’s no reason to come here and chastise others about things they never even said. Having said that, I wish all injured players the speediest and healthiest of recoveries.

@Kate: The Bold sentences are captions referring to the photos which shows exactly what Jan says. It has nothing to do with the statement about excitement in his story. As Jeroen correctly points out, it has everything to do with, and referring to, the interesting and exciting run-in of the season. Jan has never expressed any such uncalled for sentiments as long as I have been visiting and contributing to this site.
I am with everyone else here wishing your family member the speadiest of recoveries. However, 13 or 14 concussions? That is very worrysome. In fact, many people will argue those are retirement numbers. That is not healthy, and although concussions are still an area of medical debate and opinions, I would be very concerned about his future health.

Good to know he only has a concussion, not like he had before were he even lost his memory
pretty blunt action from Suarez, I never had a real concussion, I have a really hard scull, you could hit me with wood and it would almost break instantly haha.
BTW I had a confusing dream last night, kept me busy all night, i was Bert VM
had to chose my defence for the WC final but i just couldn’t make up my mind with these players.
RB: Zuiverloon(Man United), V.d.Wiel(Juventus)
CB: Maduro(Valencia), Heitinga(Atletico Madrid),
Marcellis(Barcelona), Vlaar(Arsenal)
LB: V.Aanholt(Chelsea), Braafheid(AC Milan)
no, just kidding the possibility of that happening in less than me winning a jackpot.

lets hope the us reaching the WC final is a better chance then you winning the jackpot

Hi Kate, First time I see you here, hope you come back regularly, you obviously googled Joey’s name and as this is a popular web site, it stands high on the search engines list. Jan is one of the most sensible, straight thinking and humble Bloggers on this planet. An example of how he thinks about players being kicked is his reaction and comment to Pepe’s kicking that player whilst on the ground and only getting a 10 game ban. “An Idiot, those actions don’t belong on a Football pitch, 10 games is very light.”
The Holland Blog is the most popular site in this category for ONE reason only and that is Jan’s very sober articles and reports. No one does it better. He will no doubt also respond to you, however us “followers” have only good things to say about him.
On another note please wish my fellow Aussie all the best and he should wear a rugby helmet like Petr Cech when he keeps – He’s a top Keeper.

Luis Suarez is a church goer and i know for sure it was just an accident.
He would not hit a fly.

Hi Kate, thanks for droppin’ in. I realize my photo captions and the text about the game are a bit out of tune, after reading your comment and I apologize for that… It was by no means meant to describe the horrible collision between Suarez and Diculica! As a matter of fact, I’d written the text after learning the end result and getting some quick facts about the game. I watched the game delayed and was horrified by the accident. The photo’s I added later (as I did the captions).
My frequent readers here backed my up pretty nicely – thanks, chaps! – and I regret the misunderstanding. I meant the last matches will be fun and exciting (second spot, Europa Cup spots, relegation spots). I never referred to the accident as “fun” and I never would.
I’m not sure what else I can say about this thing. As stated by another poster, I recently crucified Pepe here for his ridiculous outburst and would never ever make fun of injuries or stuff like that.
I copped it myself when young as an active player. Some yobbo came in too agressively and broke several bones in my foot. Couldn’t play for months and still feel the pain (phantom?) every now and then…
Hope this helps…

@Alex wat a strong diffence-i am sure either you will get gold or you will be kicked out in the first round with these diffenders.i would also go with the same.i dont think vlaar will will regain fitness before world cup ha ha.
@jan dont worry kate will understand you correctly if she is continuing in this blog.
By the by for me football is GENTS game so injury is often,we are not playing with vegitables,Injurys are part of football always.Still i remmeber nicolas feher(jungary0 and Mark vivian Foe of camaroon. One day we have to departfrom this world if i am departing from a footballing ground i would be happy.
Hope didluca will get well.

there r six dutch players in the real madris squad 4 of them are top international players 1 is retired(could come back) and one is a good future prospect(may be). but surprised to see none of them made it to the starting 11. it is true that 3 of them are injured, but what about the other 3, The Artist and The Hunter came off the bench for final few minutes but u know it really hurts not to see ducth players in action. it is upto the manager to decide what is best for the team and team got away with 3 points against sevilla but it is very very concerning
I really hope all six players leave madrid next season and make me feel happy and make real madrid the team that i used to hate before 2006. now i support Real because of all these players. What i want from all you six players is leave Real and choose different clubs for each of you.

I feel bad for Didulica and I hope he recovers completely and quickly. I also agree with Carlos, maybe he should consider wearing one of those rugby style helmets like Cech does.
I wonder if Cech will start some sort of trend? Maybe like that first Hockey goalie who made a face mask for himself after getting a puck in the face – all the Canadians here on this board will know what I’m talking about from those heritage commercials on tv!

Jan, I thank you for your email and really appreciate you explaining your article. Your sensitivity and attentiveness has really moved me. I now see clearly that I totally misconstrued what you wrote. For this I sincerely apologise. I now humbly ask that you forgive me for my little outburst. I think with all the chaos around me, I reacted hastily and emotionally and for this I’m deeply sorry. I’m also sorry to learn of your injuries and hope they don’t impede your sporting endeavours.
To all your faithful bloggers, thanks for your support of Joey and helping me understand Jan’s article.
OK, now I will stop my emotionally-charged blabbing and let you guys get back to serious chats about football!
Cheers everyone!

Kate, apologies are not necessary and surely accepted. Emotions are key to football and I can only assume you responded from your heart when you did. Hope Joey will recover quickly and enjoys his time in the CL next season!
And I hope you’ll come back here for more
.

Kate do come back…we’d love to hear from someone close to the “top” players as it gives a different perspective. All the best to Joey too and hope he remains the great keeper he is.
