I completely agree on the horns too. Every where I go where people are talking about the Confederations cup, inevitably those stupid horns are discussed and everyone seems to be in agreement that they are really really annoying. The horns by themselves are not the problem, we have them at sporting events here in North American, but people only use them when celebrating or cheering something, not continually blowing them for no reason. Hope they ban them for next year.

How funny – everyone (incl FIFA) must be reading this column.
Fifa has just started an investigation into those annoying horns.
It is a headline in the Dutch Sports Papers – here’s a link as it shows a pic of those noisy instruments.

I’ve been reading the Oranje forum for years but haven’t posted (error message when I try).

Those horns aren’t ‘African’ per se. They were common in the US at baseball games when I was a kid in the 70s. I agree they are very annoying. If anyone has not seen one, they are long with a wide trumpet-like opening, made of cheap plastic.

Try going to a Norway game if you want to see horns. Those plastic Viking helmets are also very very annoying. I can’t believe everyone is parading around with them.

The sad thing is that the actual helmets the Vikings wore didn’t have any horns in them at all. The horns were used to drink from. I mean how stupid would you look if you walked around with a pint glass or two on your head?

What do those horns have?. Are they very disturbing? I haven´t heard them but if they are then they should be prohibited right now. FIFA?????
