Players can become "free agents" at a certain time in their career when their contract runs out, the can then go to the highest bidder with the former team getting nothing. They'll not make him a starter - but boy without Robben coming off the bench it would be a lot easier for Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool to set their defences against Chelsea.
