I think it's important for Canadian football for talents like him to help develop the sports. He'll make good money in Europe, fine, but he needs to help support sports in his own country. Think Giggs for Wales and Litmanen for Finland. These boys will never shine on a big tournament, but their development work is important for future generations. He would be good playing with sneidjer, and van der vaart, after seedorf is gone. He could be a Canadian legend though, among the top scorers in their history, as opposed to the dutch team, where he would get minimum time.
