Crisis in Dutch Eredivisie…

Is it me? Is it because I’m too wrapped up in the global crisis? Am I getting paranoid, or are things going south for Dutch football?
The best Dutch striker, fit one I must add, is benched.
The most creative midfielder… Benched.
The midfield motor: believes he doesn’t deserve his spot in Real Madrid.
Ryan Babel: lost in a jungle of opponents.
Marco van Basten and his Ajax: losing it.
Feyenoord: started their winning streak last week, to be halted by a goalless draw playing with 10 men.
PSV: Mister PSV resigned and Lodeweges is picking up the pieces.
AZ: on title course, but the fans loath the “realistic way” of playing and boo the team regularly (what???).
What’s happening?
The only good thing is: Van der Star broke the British clean sheet record last weekend. The downside? He’s no longer playing for Oranje….
In the weeks to come, expect an article Bert van Marwijk’s view on “The Dutch School of Football”!
More “Where are they nows”, “Once in Oranje” and “The Specialist”.
Champions League football will commence soon (Kuyt versus Robben, yea!) and Oranje will take on Tunesia…
So, stick with us and keep those comments coming my friends…

Cheer Up Jan ! Ups and Downs are part of Football (and stock markets).
Again a reminder how journalists interested in Dutch football and footballers should just read and copy the comments here.
Not long ago we discussed the vPersie Bergkamp comparison. Someone who should know is Arsene Wenger who just said vP is “Bergkamp with GOALS” meaning his scoring rate is higher than the Ice Man. He also contends that vP will become better than Bergkamp – well lets see that first !

Again off topic, but now I am pissed off.
According to Norwegian papers, German coach Loew said on the press conference (Germany playing Norway on Wed in Germany) that it was an important game for them because Norway plays like Lichtenstein and Wales…
Now, I’ll readily admit we are not like what we were in the nineties, but comparing us to Lichtenstein and Wales is a bit over the top and has managed me to lose whatever little respect I had left for anything German (which isn’t much in the first place given 1940-45 and a very unwelcome visit from the krauts to start with. Never mind 1974)
What a plonker.

@MO: That is fecking disrespectful. Who would think that would be a proper commercial to put out? Fourth reich supporters?

My “guess” for the line up first half against Tunisia….
Steks
Marcellis Ooier Mathijsen Braafheid
Bommel Schaars
Kuyt(Robben) Sneider vPersie
Huntelaar
The choice Kuyt/Robben depends very much on what coaches have agreed upon. Second half will see some experimenting perhaps.

reason why az is going to win the league is they have the good belgians(pocognoli and dembele) and we(ajax) have the bad belgians(vermaelen and vertonghen).

Haha
, I actually think the two Ajax Belgiums are pretty good and thought that Poco was criticed heavily last season…
Low always struck me as a ponce… Norway like Wales? What an arse.
I hope the Vikings whip his butt!

AZ are being criticised by their fans for not playing enough fancy football. Unbelievable if what the press says is true that AZ now expects their team to win anyway. Now they want a little showmanship with the wins. Seems with these type of fans you can never “win” can you ? van Gaal says Look at our team of virtual unknowns versus what Ajax and PSV (well can add Feyenoord) have !!! The article does again mention how Schaars marshalls the meanest defence in the country like an impenetrable brick wall.

Speaking of Van der Sar, he is just one game away of setting a new world for consecutive minutes without conceding a goal and breaking current record holder Abel Resino 1,275 minutes in 1991.
“Van der Sar is one of the best six goalkeepers in the world” according to Abel Resino. The article was on Goal.com; Let’s hope our Dutch Flying Angel sets the new world record!

its been a long while since i posted comments on the site.
but i keep myself updated with all the dutch football news.
some players are in top form(RVP, VDS, Robben). and some are not(sneijder RVDV, and so on..)
its part of football but the worryiyng thing for me is dat we may well be short of VDS in coming world cup. this will be a poblem for us.
i just read in goal.com dat HUntelaar is unhappy at real and he dint know bout the champs league rule before he signed for madrid. it think its better for him to leave real come summer. u cant leave raul unless he is injured coz he is the captain, ruud will be back in summer so these two top senior strikers will start
Good to see RVP in fine form for ARSENAL but it will be in vain if they finish in fifth. So come on Robin do something,it will be a disaster if we do not play CL next season

Robin van Persie, Adabayor and Cesc Fabregas are set to leave The Gunners if they don’t qualify for CL next season. Apparently, Barca and Real are waiting eagerly…

ok tomorow there is the world cup and every player in your country is fit
ruud van nistelroooy
robben sneijder van persie
van bommel seedorf
gio mathijsen bouma de jong
van der sar
4231 – I have no idea about the diffense and who should be in their but I can’t see anybody with as good a midfield and forward as that it would be a great team

A great deal of the players that performed well last season and in the EC dropped in their level now: V.d.Vaart, Engelaar, Sneijder, Huntelaar, Heitinga, Stekelenburg. Boulahrouz is struggling with injuries and i think still not over the death of his child. Bouma injured, Ooijer mostly on the bench. Gio, De Cler and Timmer, defenitaly over the hill. Babel needs to learn a lot from Torres.
V.Basten is to blame for the bad performances of Ajax, he doesn’t create a fixed team, or what is crucial but what he still hasn’t learned. He keeps shuffling defence when it isn’t needed. That’s the first thinh you have to do, put down a solid defence. Marco needs years to become a really good coach. Feyenoord lack(ed) some quality but also motivation i think. PSV played to restrained but now the’re looser and Toivonen very good purchase, better then Koevermans and Lazovic to be honoust.
but on the bright side, Mathijsen, Kuyt, De Jong, V.Bommel, V.Persie, Schaars, De Zeeuw, Mendes da Silva, Afellay, Braafheid, Vorm, Marcellis, V.d.Wiel are doing reasonably well with a outstanding Robben.
The crisis confines itself mostly to poor management and bad luck. What most people don’t know is that in the case of Sneijder a lot more is going on. Huntelaar isn’t getting very much playing time to begin with. V.d.Vaar, Heitinga, Stekelenburg just lack real confidence now.
Btw i believe Heitinga didn’t play for Atletico, does this mean he’s being sacrified by his nwe coach, wouldn’t be the first time that a coach puts a dutch defender on the bench(Boulahrouz:Mourinho at Chelsea, Ramos and the other guy at Sevilla)

@ Jan
I don’t think that is true about Cesc maybe Ade and I hope not Robin. I know Cesc has said he will not leave untill his contract expires and he is not going to watch Barca even now because he wants to avoid those rumors. Goal.com = a lot of rubbish.
