Congrats Goose!
I think Goose and his new team member deserve a post of their own, right :-)?
Good work, buddy… Hope the missus is doing well too? And Dennis is number 1 in the family or is there a Nigel already running around…?
Anyway, my two kids are girls and I didn’t want to name them Edgar and Clarence…but let’s take a little poll here…
If you had sons and if you were allowed to name them after your fave players, what would their names be?
How many Socrateses, Zinedines, Dieters and Thierry’s would we have :-)?
For the Goose-man…

Son’s name is Kees just to play with the Anglos’ minds when they try to read it correctly.
Second son is Barent.
Echte Nederlandse namen, ironically because the Anglo wife liked them!
Wanted Johan but got vetoed.
Of course in the States, the girls’ name is Mia ![]()

Congrats Goose! Been away from the blog for a few days so I just saw the news now.
As for a son’s name, I’d like to put Ruud in there somewhere, but I don’t know how well that would go over… Dennis is nice too, and easier to convice on ![]()

Goose: Having children is better then winning the world cup. I have three teenagers, solid Dutch-Canadian kids.

Wouldn’t mind using Arjen, but in french, “argent” (a soft g) which sounds phonetically identical to Arjen when you pronounce it in french (the j isn’t like a y sound, but like a soft g), means money… Hum, only way I could get away with that is if the boy was nicknamed “Jean” for the last part of his name. Cause “Aryen” to get frenchies and anglos to pronounce it right would make them think I’m pro-nazi or something…
Wow, this is complicated stuf, I’ll have to think about this a lot more when the time comes.
