Cocu satisfied at 104

June 20th, 2006 | By: Jan | 1 Comment »

Philip Cocu will play his 100st international game for Holland against Argentina. The PSV midfielder is proud of this, but really hopes to reach the 104 mark this summer. Cocu’s first cap was in the spring of 1996, in a friendly against Germany under Hiddink. Oranje prepared for the EC 96 in England. Since his debut, he has always been a regular in the Dutch team.

“It does matter you know, this benchmark cap. It does go round in your head. I think it’s special to experience it and I do think I will play Wednesday. My ankle is holding up well and it won’t be a huge risk.”

We’ll cheer him extra, this Wednesday, won’t we?
