Clarence vs Dirk and Bolo
The CL finale is set for Athens! After two enticing matches with starring roles for Dutchies, the 2005 finals will get a reprise… The debacle of Instanbul, the Turkish Delight (depending on which camp you support) will be fresh in everyone’s mind if the Rosso-Neros take on the Reds on May 24.
In a suspenseful but quality-lacking performance Liverpool upset Chelsea winning by penalty-kicks (4-1) after Liverpool’s Aggar scored the 1-0 in the first half. Chelsea wasn’t able to produce anything. Makelele, Lampard, Cole, Kalou…invisible. Liverpool didn’t play much better but they had that fighting spirit (and that crowd!) to push them forward, and both Zenden and Kuyt scored their eleven-meter-kick for Liverpool to order tickets to Greece.
In the second match, Manchester United was unmasked by a rampaging AC Milan. Led by one Clarence Seedorf (Marco, did you watch?) the Italians uncovered all the flaws in the Mancunian defence. Even Sar couldn’t do much about it (he even saved a great strike from the bold master in the 3rd minute).
So it’s Bolo and Dirk against Clarence in the Champion League’s final this year. Something to look out for!
Your thoughts on the final?
Note: This post is late, because I didn’t wanted to be surprised by reading the scores of the CL semifinals. In Oz, we have the chance to watch the game in the evening (14 hours or so after it has been played. That beats getting up at 4 in the morning. Anyway, after the first match I read some stuff on the share-investment forum (that’s what I do for work) and I read “Liverpool wins 4-1 penalties”. I was devestated. Not that I don’t support Liverpool (I do) but because the score was given away on a bloody share-investment site!!! So I decided to leave the computer, radio and TV alone until I watched Milan vs United. Sorry for that …

Seedorf was playing so great for Milan. It is a must for Basten to watch at least the final of the Champions League.
In the Dutch NT, he should be the starting eleven. So, in the middle, the Dutch NT will have something like (if they still play 4-3-3):
—Seedorf—Sneijder—-
——Demy De Zeuw——-
It would be great!

haha .. im starting to think it will be a match between seedorf and kuyt, not between milan and liverpool.
by the way, im very happy with zenden’s improvement in the final year. He didnt play in todays game with fulham.. a positive sign.. hes being rested i suppose, like kuyt.. i hope they will both be in the starting 11 in the final.
the more Dutch the better !!!!!!

@Rami: i was very impressed by Zenden to be honest…just a few weeks ago i wrote a comment about him saying how i dislike him and that i thought he was a wanker but i was wrong…. he played very decent and if he keeps playing like this and keeps playing in the starting 11 hell need to be called by vanBasten..we need all the midfieldplayers we can get…
yes, Kuyt and Zenden were both rested, it looks like both have a great change to start in the final…Seedorf is already certain of that cause hes really in great form…the best ive seen him play in a long while
cant wait for this final, if its anything like 2 years ago were in for a treat!!
