CL matchday 5, leg two…

Henkie couldn’t get to the CL with Ajax (twice) but only needs a draw in the last match to reach the knock-out stages…
The only match I watched is Bordeaux – Chelsea. Not overly impressed by the Londoners. Bordeaux played a good first half (some Chelski’s were sleepwalking) but the French weren’t able to convert into goals. The game ended 1-1.
Our fellow country-men didn’t do too shabby, bar our PSV team.
For more insights on their 2-1 loss against Atletico Madrid, check out the http://psv.theoffside.com website.
Koevermans scored the 2-1 early in the second half, after trailing 2-0, but PSV wasn’t able to snatch a draw. Afellay got kicked out of the match, 70 seconds in. He was subbed after half an hour of play. Telling your coach you’ll “entice” his mum worked well for Lazovic, who has started in every game since the incident. Interesting to see what creative abuse the other subs come up with…
Dirk and Ryan are through to the next round, thanks to a Gerrard goal at Anfield against Bolo Zenden’s Olympique Marseille.
Inter – despite a 0-1 loss against Henk ten Cate’s Panathinaikos is also through. The latter still has chances to qualify if they can keep Werder Bremen at bay. Barca and Sporting Lisboa were already through. Shaktar Donetsk grabs the UEFA ticket. Group A is the only other group with some tension.
