September 1st, 2007 | By: Jan | 7 Comments »

Celta de Vigo announced the signing of Quincy Owusu Abeyie for this season. The Dutchman is on loan from Spartak Moscow. Celta lost Daniel de Ridder who left for Birmingham City. The 21 year old winger came through Ajax’ youth system and moved to Arsenal at a young age. He was one of the stars of the WC U21 in 2005 but got side-tracked when he left for Moscow.

You’re right my friend. Great memory! He did ask the FIFA to be “transferred” to Ghana, the country of his grandparents. He was disappointed in De Haan. Didn’t read or find anything on the FIFA’s decision, but I assume it was granted…

well, dont think that is possible cause he already played official games for the KNVB
would be no problem tough letting him go..totally useless player..should try and do atlethics..100 meter sprint
hes the kind of player who thinks he doenst need to learn anymore and hell end up in Japan or Quatar

go away Quincy!!!

He’s able to play for his home country (Ghana) because he only played for the under 21 squad, not the senior squad. The last I read is that his nationality transfer is in the works but delayed so the coach hadn’t been able to use him, but both parties have every intention of it.

I’ve also heard he has a attitude that completely outweighs his potential. Some of the highlights I’ve seen looked pretty nice and there were some nice tricks, but you could almost see his arrogance through his play. Seems like a jackass to be honest.
