Capello: Real Champions thanks to Ruud
Fabio Capello is anxiously looking out to the moment he can celebrate the Spanish championship with his Real Madrid.
“I’ve never given a championship away on the last day,” he said smiling after the last training session on Saturday. Capello won 6 titles, four times with AC Milan, once with Real Madrid and once with AS Roma.
David Beckham, Diarra and Robinho will all be fit. “David was and is a great player. Physically, he is so strong and he is one of the best players I ever had in my teams. But, he signed for another club and we can’t convince him to stay. That’s how it is.”
He also explained the value of Ruud van Nistelrooy. The Dutch striker scored 25 times in the Primera Division. “Ruud has been extremely important for us. We are very depended of him as goal-scoring machine. He has had a tremendous season! His nose for the goal, for the right spot, yeah…that’s really a major problem for most opponents. All defenders fear him. He is a very important signing…”
Latest news: for next season, Real has contacted Jerzy Dudek, the former Feyenoord goalie, to become second keeper behind Iker Casillas…
