Call for Information!

September 23rd, 2008 | By: Jan | 17 Comments »

My friends, with all your great contributions (Goose, Alex and others) I wanted to repeat a request I made earlier on Blog Improved Post

The Eredivisie Offside Blog likes more editors! Club oriented stuff, other than the already covered Ajax and PSV, and generic Eredivisie football news, insights, videos, fun stuff…whatever :-) .

I will contribute myself, as do others on the Offside Blog, and will keep on posting here of course.

Just leave a comment for me here, ok?

I could provide a bit of background on players, club/player performances, but i’m sad to say that although it is an exciting competition, the level is pretty low these days and i’m not that enthousiastic about the Eredivisie. I like to use Oranje as my flag ship, since at least they can still compete with the worlds best teams.

@Goose, i can say i don’t really have a all time favourite dutch club, i have a preference to clubs that play quick, technical and attacking football, and ironicaly at this moment, AZ and Twente do best in that area, both good, fast positional play, with Ajax, PSV and Heerenveen behind them, but PSV relies more on players like Afellay, Amrabat and Dszudszak to put in a cross or make an action, same for Ajax but then with Sulejmani, Suarez, Cvitanich… Also NEC does keep impressing me with average players, but i can say for a club like NEC they have a pretty decent starting group with players like, Babos, Zomer, Wisgerhof, Pothuizen, John, Kivuvu, Sibum, Worm, V.Beukering. And just to say if í would ever become a biljonair i’d buy me a eredivisie club, just for the sake of Dutch football, instead of profit, Abramovich, watch out..

Not yet, let him stay at NEC for a few more years, but the fact that he has formed a team out of average players that can do this well in Eredivisie as well as in UEFA Cup(at least for now) says to me he has what it takes. He’ll make the step some day, but i think he’ll learn more from a few more years of NEC then he will if he would begin to coach a topclub, and after all, coaches V.Basten, Stevens and Verbeek don’t seem to plan on leaving their clubs very soon.
