Big jumps for Rigters and De Ridder

June 25th, 2007 | By: Jan | 3 Comments »

A lot of fans watched the EC U21 matches last weeks. But some of the punters in the stands were more than fans. The so-called scouts were abundant as well. And NAC-striker and top scorer of the tournament Maceo Rigters was well aware of it. The former FC Dordrecht striker is an interesting option for foreign topclubs. For one, he scores prolifically and secondy, he plays for NAC and will not be too expensive (as opposed to Drenthe and Babel who have good contracts at Feyenoord and Ajax already).

During the tournament, Rigters didn’t want to be bothered with transfer stuff, but now the tournament is over he will talk to his manager tomorrow to look at the options. And it is clear already that several clubs from the EPL, La Liga and the Serie A are interested to talk to the striker.

Daniel de Ridder, developed at Ajax and currently under contract with Celta de Vigo in Spain, is another oft mentioned name in the transfer-circuit. Since Celta was relegated to the Segundo Division, it is clear that De Ridder will be in for a transfer. With the specific qualities he brings to the table, expect a transfer to England sooner than later.

Chelsea is actively grooming new Feyenoord star Drenthe and has offered 4 Mio pounds already. Feyenoord can use the money and with new signing De Cler it seems the left back position is already taken… It will be interesting to see what Feyenoord’s position will be….

true rami..would hate to see that happen..but if tey offer enough Feyenoord cant resist..they need cash badly..but it would not be good for his career

deRidder; still not sure about him..never liked him, but he played well during the final and he is a real winger..maybe some sub-top club in GB?

If nac can get any decent money for Rigters they should take it..dont know if im gonna regret these words but hell never be a top striker..too slow, too small, not even a real killer..think a team like Twente or Utrecht will be best for him (but not for nac ofcourse)

grtz

I agree Goose, I wasn’t impressed with Rigters. True, he scores goals, he is opportunistic and has skills, but he doesn’t have “it” for me. Which doesn’t mean he won’t be able to get a truly great career, make zillions of dollars and such… But he is maybe a bit like Hasselbaink or Makaay… Prolific goalscorers but never really admired in their own country and never given a fair chance in Oranje because we have so many other great players….
