AZ and Ajax stumble to the finish line

May 18th, 2007 | By: Jan | 7 Comments »

Tomorrow the first leg for the last remaining CL ticket will be played. AZ – Ajax. A fine duel, as we know by now. But AZ misses Dembele, the Belgium international, and now Danny Koevermans is also out with groin-injuries. Stijn Schaars and David Mendes Da Silva are still injured, while Boy Waterman and Ryan Donk will be struggling to be fit on time for the match.

Ajax is mainly missing their seasoned players. Stam is injured and Davids and Gabri are suspended for the first leg match. “We are monitoring Jaap’s recovery on a daily basis. We won’t force anything, but if we can get him fit for the 2nd leg, I won’t be complaining,” said Ajax coach Henk ten Cate.

The winner of the two legs will be able to join the Tango of Millions. Extremely important for both clubs… Nail biting ensues…

See this is waht I mean. The English cup final was played by two teams who played a lot of games this tear. Chelsea and Man Utd. They play semi finals in CL, they play for the championship. And I do not hear them complaint. And in Holland the tone of the music is “AZ is hurt” “Ajax is tired” and we miss players and we can not handle the pressure. Look at AZ last match against Excelsior. And Ajax too!!! THat is prove that Dutch is no strong fighting spirit.

I start to really like you Ishmael (are you sure youre not actually Jan trying to stir things up)
if you had seen the Cup final you would have noticed that the same problem accurs(?) in England..it was a terrible game without any tempo and players and commentators agreed that it was cause of all the games they had played this season, they not only looked tired physicly but also mentally, same thing here in Holland…its been a long season for all top teams..

Hey funny man :-) , watch what you’re saing ok :-) . Hahaha, I like that Ishmael. He means well I think. Let’s let all newcomers have their say. Funny part is that I once checked new comments that I needed to moderate and I think I actually deleted his first comment on the blog (by accident. Sorry Ishmael!!). We get 100s of spam-messages and Ishmael’s was a bit murky so I accidentily hit “spam”. It’s good to see him back.

and eh…I actually understand his points very well… I do not agree with them, but I can see where he comes from and worse even…I think more people in Holland think like him than you would like…

points are bs, more then half the players are foreign, the Cup Final was terrible, everyone is tired (esp. mentally). and that goes for the dutch public too, the stadions are all half filled during play-offs..
.. ofcourse everyone can have there say (who am i?), thats what makes it all interesting, BUT if someone starts to talk bs ill say something about it, havent read a single interesting comment from this guy, just stupid things.. alas

Az-Ajax: 1-2, Groningen goes Uefa

Hi Goose, I didn’t mean I agree with I. on the stuff about the tiredness and the cup final so much :-) . Chill!! I was referring to earlier things he wrote. But it doesn’t matter. Ignore him if you don’t like his comments. I think it’s fun to have different opinions on the site. I really monitor the conducts of everyone and so far, this Ismael bloke seems reasonable…

Ishmael can have his opinions, he has a different view than mine´s but it´s part of life. I respect his opinions because not everybody thinks the same of Dutch football or soccer, for him the Netherlands. For him we are not good enough, well, that´s his opinion but I do not know why he enters this blog if he likes Portugal that much. =)

Im very chill Jan, always am… the reason im on this blog is cause i love to have discussions about football, ill respect any opinion who stupid it might be to me (as a dutchman you learn about those kind of things)
BUT
if someone starts saying untrue things about the visiters on this blog it shows they are only here to make a mess.. this guy actually wrote that we discussed Gio;s breakfast and vdVaarts wife.. if you have something to say about football just do it..
ill just ignore the guy
