Arjen Robben: World Class!

August 30th, 2009 | By: Jan | 18 Comments »

The Germans haven’t got enough words to describe Robben’s class.

Scoring twice in his first 45 minutes for the club after the crash signing foreced even Der Franz to lautjugend praise the Groningen-born winger.

“Arjen Robben demonstrated in a remarkable fashion how good he is,” said the Bayern president.

Robben: “I’m happy. This is the kind of start you dream of. We played well as a team. Franck and myself really gel well together. He’s one of the reasons why I signed. I love playing with him.

Louis van Gaal can smile again. “He confirmed his class. We should all be proud that he plays for us now. It’s really tough to do what he did. Three days ago, he was a Madrid player. He came here a day ago, didn’t know anyone bar his new coach and one or two team mates and to perform like this, then… It’s mindboggling.”

Phillip Lahm: “Arjen is world class, we all knew that but now we also saw it. To arrive a day ago and scoring twice. Unbelievable.”

Skipper Van Bommel: “Arjen enriches not only Bayern but the whole Bundesliga. I hope he will entertain the fans many many more times.”

Now Bayern have the best wingers in the world. Just curious, who makes the decision to get Robben from Madrid? Is it Van Gaal? Or, Uli Hoennes? It is very quick decision. Most people still think that Robben will move to MU…

Last year he stopped getting injured and now he seems to have a better fitness.

I watched Inter and thought Sneijder did a very good job. Mourinho knows what he’s capable of doing so I’m sure he will take advantage of this incredible player.
Robben is one of the best of the world, I even think he can be the #1.

This season will be very fun. We will be following the Bundesliga and Calcio and not just the Eredivisie, La Liga and the Premiership. It will be very entertaining and about Robben…well, the boy deserves the best. He has fought against injuries and many critics and although I agree with Finnster, last year he was fit in many periods of the season like Miguel says. I have been following http://www.as.com and http://www.marca.com blogs and Madrid fans are pretty pissed off about the fact that they let go Robben and Sneijder. They all say that Raúl and Guti are Madrid´s cancer. I agree with them!!!

Bayern’s gain is Real’s loss.
Tip your hat to Robben, he may run like my sister, but gets the job done.

Tjeerd:

I think you are being unfair to Robben. He runs pretty fast and he is a gifted player. Those kind of commments are irrelevant for a good football analysis dude.
