Andwele Slory threatened…

November 12th, 2007 | By: Jan | 4 Comments »

Feyenoord striker Andwele Slory got 20 minutes of playtime from coach Bert van Marwijk against Ajax. The neo international had just recovered from an injury but Feyenoord needed Slory to create something in the last phase of the Feyenoord – Ajax game. Slory did what he could, but failed to make a difference. Although he did get a big opportunity towards the end of the match, only for Ajax goalie Stekelenburg to stop his attempt.

When Slory got home later that day, a letter was put in his letterbox, reading: “Next time, you better score when you are face to face to the opponent’s goalie. If not, it’s better for you to move places…”

Slory went to the police with the letter. His manager: “We can only interpret this letter as a threat. What else can we do. It’s a disgrace that so-called fans do these things. Andwele is pretty shaken at the moment.”

What kind of world is this?

That sucks. I mean, what does people expect? It was just one chance of many. Gio missed a similar one in the first half.
