van basten could have included Huntelaar in place of the third goalkeeper! lol just joking. but i think it’s the tatics of the team that makes that Huntelaar does not have his place. center atack some finisher with good header(nistelrooy, vennegor) on flanks speed players who can cross the ball and score (roobben, kuyt, van persie, babel)that’s y perhaps makaay does not have his place too…

lov ethis article when it says: “The idea is to keep all the soccer world sleepy until this fresh, raw and explosive team pours out onto the pitch in Leipzig June 11th.”
i wish this happens and the orange surprise us with an amzing game playing the famous “total football”. i can’t wait:)

You know…I’m not a fan of having three keepers in the squad. It’s something I’ve never really liked or understood. I think we could all learn a lesson from Cantona and his Joga Bonito: why not 1-1-8? The Dutch have the players for it…

Don’t know about 1-1-8, but the best attacking teams often end up playing something like 1-4-5. It’s that bit in games when they’re camped inside their opponents’ half, passing the ball from one corner to the other via the centre circle (six or seven passes) waiting for an opportunity. If it doesn’t come, they simply retrace the semi-circle. Great way to sit on a lead, too.
