5 Posts away from Second Place!!!!
Actually, only four now
.
As all Dutch football fans know by now, being number 2 is not bad. As JC said: since we were number 2 at the WC74 people talk about our football even more. As in “my God what a shame you didn’t win back then…”. So there are some positive sides to being number 2.
Well, on this WC Team Blog, I believe Equador leads the tables in terms of number of posts. England is number 2 currently, with 600 posts. We are number 3 with only 4 posts to go and then we top England!!! We have loads more comments (posts are like points, and comments is the goal-scoring difference). So with 4 more posts, we lead over England on the basis of our comments.
And that’s also typically Dutch: we have an opinion about EVERYTHING! So, all those comments, yeah….it figures
.
So, expect some more random posts from me just to put England where they belong…. watching our backsides…
This is by far the lamest post ever…

This is a bit of a bummer… I just checked the home page again, but it seems they stopped counting after the WC. The new posts post-WC are not taken into account. So, we’ll have to live with that 3rd place… Yikes…

Anyway I put my comment perhaps it will count:
If we have so many comments is because Holland has some of the most faithful fans around the globe. I cheer for the Netherlans since I was a little boy and I will continue doing that for live!

I reelly did not wanted to go on this Holland blog because I think you are almost groupies! I reelly like Dutch football and think you are among the best in the world, but this posts and comments are almost pathetic. This post is reelly the sillyest post. Sorry

We are really doing fine without u ishmael, thank u for your kindness though.
Im Half Lebanese by the way.. if u do decide to stick around and become a band aid
, not a groupie, u will eventually stumble upon on a whole bunch of Lebanese Hardcore Dutch Fans.. like myself.

Groupies????? Dont think so mate..if you would take the time to read the comments youll find that we are no groupies at all..think youll find more critism on this blog than on any other..if you can say one thing about the dutch and there international fans its that they always find reasons to complain..BUT our love for Oranje will never die!! tssssss Groupies…joker!!

Ishmael:
We are very ok without you. The only pathetic comments here are yours!. You say you are fan of Dutch soccer but you don´t even know how to spell the name of Wesley Sneijder. Shame on you man!. Perhaps you are talking about Rugby, not soccer.

I am sorry if you are mad. I am fan. But not a blind fan. I like football. Soccer is a name used by old people. Are you old people Mario? I spell name wrong, so sorry. Many times people spell Ishmael wrong. So what? Dutch is hard for me. And groupies i don’t mean bad. I mean you all care what Vaart’s wife is in bed and what Gio eats for breakfast and why Seedorf is good when you think 2 years ago Seedorf is bad. You first make statue for Marco and now you break statue down. You have no faith, no loyalty, no belief. This is not you only, this is problem of the world. If Oranje wins EC you all hang posters of Marco van Basten on your little bedroom walls. You don’t see clear.
I will prove to you:
Which team has been better from year 2000 until now, Portugal or Oranje? That is my question. You answer. I will smile already, ok
?
Or which player is better: Christiano Ronaldo or Arjen Robben?
Carvalho or BOularouch?
Mourinho or Van Gaal?
Bommel or Deco?

@Ishmael: aha, now i understand…we have a Port. handbag here… youre at the wrong blog..we dont like portugal on this one but theres a special blog for you and your friends…its called the portugese blog and you should visit (give my special grtz to Pedro) and stay away from here…dont say youre a fan of dutch football when youre not and only try to wind us up here…f@ck off

No Goose
. You seem like a nice man. You start yelling at me. Why? I am not fan of Portugal! I am fan of FOOTBALL. I like Ronaldo, he is good. I also like Deco. But also I like Crouch. And Schweinsteiger. And Pirlo. And Fabregas. And Seedorf. I like good football and mostly Dutch football is good football. But i wanted to make a point. With those questions. YOu see how blind you are? I ask normal questions you start to call me names. YOu hooligan?
You need to look at facts, ok? Oranje in WC02? Not there. With guru Van Gaal. Still not there. Ok, can happen. But EC04 lost to Portugal. In bed tournament with only Robben good. Bommel was not special, rest of the team also not special. Never I thought Oranje is going to win. WC06 you have new team new coach. Oranje played well in maybe 30 minutes in total in the first 2 match. Against Argentina did not count. And against Portugal you showed – including Marco I know – you are still small country. Stupid changes by Marco, stupid fauls by Bommel, Boularous, etc. So, do not f^%& me Goose but look at your team. There is many potential, but only if all players reach potential, still Oranje is one of Europe’s 8 good teams. Not better. Like England, Spain, Germany… Sorry goose i will not shout at you. But I will try the Portugal blog, ok?
Love to you!

whats your point??
What are these questions?? Bommel-Deco etc. who cares!! i dont.. youre full of it man..
just read the comments and youll see that we treat our team fair and hard if nessicery… what kind of bullshit are you saying ” what vdVaart wife is in bed”??? those kind of things are not talked about on this blog. what are you doing on this blog??
well, if master Jan thinks youre alright ill just leave it with this and ignore you…..wanker

I don´t like your comments Ishmael, you are very negative, very small criteria. You talk about Portugal like the best team in the World???Who is their goal scorer???Nuno Gomez and Pauleta???. How many European Championships and World Cups hace they entered or at least be competitive???.
They missed the World Cups of 1990, 1994, 1998 and failed miserably at 2002. They have some very good players of course and today they have a very good team and they have beaten Oranje lately but that is football. Some times you win, some times you lose. One day will come that Holland will beat Portugal, it´s not that big deal, what matters is to win trophies not beat the Portuguese. And just as Goose says, the Portuguese blog is open man, you should go there, if you do not like Dutch soccer or have a very small opinion of it, then stop saying those poor comments. Anyway, not everybody will think the same as me.

I’d like to add a point that I think is overseen by most. Especially Ishmael… Dutch football aims to win trophies indeed, but…we also want to do it the “right” way. With attractive football. With goals. That’s part of our heritage. And sometimes coaches will maybe go to far for that (Adriaanse, Van Gaal, Cruyff, Van Basten (at least I hope he has that
)). And that’s a big difference with Portugal or any other nation. They just want to win, maybe with sneaky football. Germany did it for years and even Brazil did/does it like that nowadays! I almost puke when I read that Junihno was left out of the squad or Brazilian Leonardo didn’t start in the WC94 team or Redondo was left out of the Argentinian squad for stupid reasons. At least we – The Dutch – try to do it in a attractive way and sometimes we fail miserably. But we want to put some art in our sports. We are the nation that brought forward Johan Cruyff, Coen Moulijn, Robbie Rensenbrink and Robin Van Persie. But also Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Jan Wolkers and Architect Rietveld. I’d rather lose against a lousy Portugal but play dominant football than play catenaccio with 9 defenders and win… But hey, that’s me…

Jan: this philosophy behind the Dutch football is the reason why i’m an ardent fan of Oranje. and last evening we saw a sublime demonstration of this football and philosophy – played by Barca, orchestrated by Rijkaard:-) unfortunately i think this is too late…

Ishmael: Van Bommel wasn’t there at the EC04 he got injured 2 weeks before the tournament and was replaced by Bosvelt…

Yeah Ferenc, the thing is… I was watching the last week Barca match – the draw – and my friend visiting said: look how awful and vulnerable Barca is… And the problem with Barca or Ajax or Oranje is exactly that. If it all rolls well, it’s awesome! And unstoppable. But if some wheels in the machine don’t run well, it looks awful. Slow, and predictable. If it’s good, it’s reeeaaalllly good and if it’s bad it stinks. I also believe it will be too late, alass. Although I do like Ruud to have success.
Can you see all Spanish matches in Hungary? Can you watch Dutch football on telly?

Jan: actually I can see lots of Spanish games, almost barca and real,I watch Oranje too,but honeytly we don’t have too much possibility to watch the Dutch league – I saw the cup final, and some ajax games, but it wasn’t too much.
Did you see last night barca versus atletico? actually i’m happy with ruud’s success too and i hope he would be the top scorer in the ligua (and barca the champion)
