1000 posts!!! Thank you all…
Yo all,
This is post numero 1000! I feel like Pele. And like Romario…
…
We top the list. We outperform all wanna-be’s in England, Croatia, Portugal, France, etc… We are European Champions whining, wincing, complaining, criticizing… We do best what our players, coaches, experts, analists and fans do best as well: talking about football
.
And a big THANK YOU for all of you (Goose, Ferenc, Lerkot, JVB, Bob, Mario, Triju, Dirk, Marc, Jeroen, Bodo, Robert, sandesh, Miguel, Samuel, Alaa, Stephen, Caleb, Rami, Tjeerd, Finnster, Ayl, T, EK2008, Netherlandfanboy, Darth, Luis, Hans, Kyle and all the more introverted lurkers out there) for making this one of the best websites of the Universe!
Keep on fueling the fire, my dear orange friends, and we will one day succeed in posting and commenting our boys to a big Prize!
Keep up the good work and Stay Orange!

Congratulations to Jan, big time! A flow of high quality, interesting, challenging and always debatable postings that inspire our thinking and reflect on how we feel about the Oranje. Keep it up, big fella’!
I am also very impressed with our group, for several reasons. First, excepting me, this is the most well informed group of football enthusiasts ever. The knowledge brought to the response posts is astounding, very high level stuff and impresses me every day. Second, I admire the spirit of the “debates”. There appears to be no agendas, or hostility, or an unwillingness to at least consider the opinions of others. Third, as we continue to participate, personalities develop in a most interesting way. I look forward to reading response posts in part because they so reflect the qualities of the writer. For instance, Goose “hates” everybody, yet we all know that he is a most loyal fan and supporter of the Netherlands national team. Ferenc brings great insight and always a positive attitude. Others are equally identifiable, interesting and enjoyable.
It is a great blog in so many ways, and I consider it a privilege to be a small part of it. Thanks to all.

The most interesting thing is the thoughts that you all have and the great news from Jan. I think there is a very mature group because we discuss football and each view is read in a respectful way. If I say something passionate is because that´s the way I am but I think all ideas are welcome because each brain and head works differently.

Well done Jan,
Without your stories I would not know what is going on in Holland soccer and would sadly have to look at ESPN to tell me the news, or learn Dutch, one or the other. Anyways keep up the good work and in no time you’ll be at 2000 posts, and again, thanks for doing all the work.

Congratulations Jan and the rest of the contributors to this great blog. I have been a “lurker” for quite some time now but thought that I ought to finally contribute on this milestone occasion. Like many of the others on this blog I have part Dutch heritage and have bled Oranje for most of my life. Prior to discovering this blog I trawled the internet looking for Oranje news in English (cannot understand Dutch), but the best I could come up with was the English version of knvb.com. This blog has been a god-send and where once I felt alone and isolated “down under”, I now feel part of a wider Oranje diaspora. Please keep this blog alive.
Hup Holland Hup
PS – my greatest Oranje moment was the feeling I had watching Bergkamp’s three world class touches(thee first to control, the second to beat the defender, the third with the outside of the foot to beat the keeper) to win the game in the final minute of the QF against Argentina in 1998. When I saw the net bulge I jumped half way across the room and let out a lion’s roar. It was about 4am in the morning in Australia and I’m sure I woke half the neighbourhood. I still get goosebumps when I see the replay of THAT goal.

Yes, big thank you Jan for all the reliable information. Like many have said, if we didn’t have this blog we would have to go back to scouring the internet for random dutch news in English. The group of commenters on this site are fantastic too. Let’s keep it up!

I’d like to echo the thoughts and feelings of the group. Well done Jan, without all your effort we “english” only fans would have little Oranje news. As a result I feel much more a FAN. As Bob mentioned above, the tone and spirit of the debates are intelligent and passionate without lowering to insults. A very refreshing exception in blogs.
Thank you all and Hup Holland.
